ROYA's Family Education Program offers a series of classes and workshops to help parents understand the issues facing today's families. The classes focus on improving parent-child relationships and other issues. Programs are available for young people from elementary school through high school. On May 10, 2011Royal Oak Youth Assistance is offering a presentation given by Ms. Jessica Cooper, Prosecuting Attorney for Oakland County, where she will will discuss issues including the sending of threatening text messages, the posting of intimidating messages, and the exchange of explicit photos of minors. The purpose of this presentation is to educate parents attending on the laws governing the technology that our youth use every day.
